| Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary. With nearly 3,000 performances under its (garter) belt, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding, the popular interactive wedding experience, recently celebrated its tenth year at Chicago’s Piper Alley, 230 W. North Avenue.
“On behalf of the entire Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding cast and crew, we’re proud to be the longest running show currently in product in Chicago”, said producer Anthony Tomaska. “There is nothing more exciting than watching the sheer surprise and delight of audience members when they get a chance to join the conga line or do the Macarena with the cast … they quickly unwind and really feel part of the wedding.” Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding continues to play to sell-out crowds at up to eight shows each week, sometimes featuring celebrity guests, such as Frankie Avalon and Tom Dreesen. Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding is an interactive satire of an Italian-American wedding in which the audience participates in the festivities along with the thirty-two cast members in all aspects of the traditional Italian nuptials. More than watching a theatrical production, the audience experiences the mishap-plagued ceremony, receiving line, champagne toast, catered reception (Italian buffet dinner), scofflaws with in-laws, as well as dancing to the live music of Donny Dolce & Fusion.
Tony n’ Tina continue to tie the knot at Piper’s Alley, where a full-service cocktail lounge, Vinnie Black’s Celebrity Lounge, meticulously recreated chapel and authentic “retro” reception hall have been replicated in detail. The wedding accommodates up to 275 guests. Show times are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 pm, Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm and Sundays at 5:00 pm. Sunday is also known as “family night” and is suitable for guests of all ages.
